Lunch ‘n’ Learn – “Community giving: Making the pie bigger”
August 20, 2009
10:30 AM-1:30 PM
Holiday Inn-Fayetteville Bordeaux (1707 Owen Drive, Fayetteville, NC 28304)
A big challenge for nonprofits, especially in the economic recession, is to grow charitable giving in their communities by getting more people involved in contributing their time, know-how and money to local causes.
Join the Philanthropy Journal on Aug. 20 in Fayetteville for a special Lunch ‘n’ Learn workshop that will examine strategies and tools your nonprofit can use to expand your giving base, better engage your givers, and find more innovative and productive ways for them to give.
Moderated by Todd Cohen, PJ’s editor and publisher, the panel will include Mary Holmes, executive director of the Cumberland Community Foundation; Lavastian Glenn, program officer at the Mary Reynolds Babcock Foundation in Winston-Salem, and Mac Legerton, executive director of the Center for Community Action in Lumberton, managing partner for the Philanthropy of Community project of NCGives.
This event is co-sponsored by NCGives.
