Statewide Nonprofit Conference: New pre-conference discount via NCGives

NCGives is leading "Giving as the Essence of Community," the pre-conference workshop for the Statewide Conference for North Carolina's Nonprofit Sector (September 2009 - Concord, NC)...and we are pleased to announce that a discount has been offered to all NCGives constituents registering for the pre-conference workshop by August 31.

This means that even if you are not a member of the North Carolina Center for Nonprofits, you can still get the member rate for the pre-conference workshop of $85 (a savings of $165!).

Philanthropy of Community, one of NCGives' flagship projects, derived initial inspiration from "The Poor Philanthropist: How and Why the Poor Help Each Other," a groundbreaking study on horizontal philanthropy (from the University of Cape Town).

Horizontal philanthropy can be defined as "the giving for and by community," including the poor. This article is just one more example of how we are all givers. Read more...
