“North Carolina Giving” premieres tonight! (UNC-TV)

Don't forget to tune into your local UNC-TV channel tonight at 10:00pm to watch North Carolina Giving: Philanthropy Across Cultures & Communities, a new documentary from NCGives.
If you want to participate in the North Carolina Giving Contest, make sure that before the broadcast starts, you print or write down the quiz questions below.

Over the next week, several stories from NCGives and our documentary project will be shown on UNC-TV, leading up to the documentary premiere next Monday at 10pm.

Tuesday, Nov. 3 (Today)
TV Show: North Carolina NOW (7:30pm, UNC-TV)
Focus: "North Carolina Giving: American Indians and Giving" (except from the documentary)
Beginning of a four-part NC NOW series that focuses on philanthropy in North Carolina. Haliwa Saponi students are building a greenhouse for traditional plants; Stephanie Richardson is a volunteer firefighter in Hollister.

200 high school youth gather to grant $60,000+ to NC communities

GREENSBORO, NC – On Saturday, October 17, 2009 more than 200 high school-aged youth from across North Carolina will come together at the Greensboro Downtown Marriott for the Fourth Annual North Carolina Youth Giving Summit. Entitled “The Magic Of Giving”, the Summit is designed to prepare how and where these high school students will grant over $60,000 to help their communities. The funds have been donated from philanthropic organizations across the state and will be entrusted to these youth for allocation.
