Donna Chavis named to Wildacres Leadership Initiative Board

NCGives Executive Director Donna Chavis
Donna Chavis, Executive Director of NCGives, has been appointed to the Board of Advisors of the Wildacres Leadership Initiative. Donna is also a member of the founding board of the organization.
Among her leadership roles, she has held the seat of chair or co-chair of the board for the Jessie Smith Noyes Foundation, the Fund for Southern Communities, the Changemakers Fund, Robeson Health Care Corporation, and the NC Center for Nonprofits.
She currently sits as the chair of the National Advisory Committee for the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Healthy Kids, Healthy Communities childhood obesity initiative and Chair-Elect of the board of Planned Parenthood of Central North Carolina. Along with other notable North Carolinians, she was featured in the 2009 book “Secrets of Success: North Carolina Values-Based Leadership."
"Donna is a proven leader within the state and has demonstrated a true commitment to enriching North Carolina. Her expertise and talent will help drive WLI to accomplish great things in the future," said WLI Board Co-Chair, Virginia Hardy.
Donna is a member of the Lumbee tribe of North Carolina and resides with her family in the ancestral home of Pembroke, NC. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke with a BS in Math and Psychology.
Wildacres Leadership Initiative cultivates a network of courageous leaders who connect across differences in identity and ideas to develop new solutions to the complex challenges facing the people and communities of North Carolina.
