National ‘United We Serve’ Initiative Announced

"Yesterday, President Obama announced the United We Serve initiative to promote volunteer service this summer. This was part of the Edward M. Kennedy Serve America Act, signed into law on April 21 thanks to your advocacy.
United We Serve offers two opportunities:
- Volunteers! Post your organization's volunteer opportunities. The program begins June 22 and ends September 11. Register at www.serve.gov.
- Share your story! Post the ways your nonprofit is making a difference in your community.
The Center is pleased to be working with the N.C. Commission on Volunteerism and Community Service to make North Carolina a national leader in the United We Serve initiative."
