NCGives remembers Dorothy Height

We at NCGives would like to honor the memory of civil rights activist Dr. Dorothy Height, who passed away yesterday at the age of 98.

Dr. Height was a prominent figure in the civil rights movement, and the leading voice for the women of movement, serving alongside Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. From that time onward, she remained an active advocate, including meeting with every president since Eisenhower.

Among her many contributions to the country, to African Americans and especially to black women, Dr. Height spent most of her adult life heading the National Council of Negro Women.
