Students of Wake County have transformed an economic downturn into an opportunity: selling coupon booklets to cost-conscious consumers, with the proceeds going directly to Wake schools.
Students Set Out to Raise $1M for Wake Schools

A campaign will begin soon to raise at least $1 million to help individual schools in Wake County at a time when tight budgets are leading to cuts.
The "Save Our Schools" campaign will kick off Sunday, when local teenagers will begin selling Adopt A School FunCards. The $20 cards offer discounts at local businesses.
