Triangle LGBT Women & Men Will “Sing for the Cure”

May 10, 2011

On June 12, 2011 the Triangle Gay Men's Chorus (TGMC) and the Common Woman Chorus, both based in the Triangle, will bring to the Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill area the first local performance of "A Proclamation of Hope," featuring Sing for the Cure.

The net proceeds of this event will be shared equally by the choruses and Susan G. Komen for the Cure-NC Triangle, the local affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the world leader in the breast cancer movement.

Sing for the Cure is a world-renowned choral song cycle honoring those affected by breast cancer: survivors, their families and friends, and was commissioned by Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the global leader in the breast cancer movement.

The performance will be presented in Meymandi Concert Hall of Raleigh's Progress Energy Center for the Performing Arts, and will feature orchestral accompaniment and narration by WRAL-TV News anchors David Crabtree and Debra Morgan.

Sing for the Cure was first performed in 2000, and featured Maya Angelou as Narrator.

The choruses are seeking corporate and individual donors to help underwrite this event. Interested parties may contact TGMC's project coordinator, Mr. Brent Troth, at development@tgmchorus.org.
