Donna Chavis
Executive Director, NCGives
Isaac Asimov said this many years ago, but it is certainly true today as well:
"It is change, continuing change, inevitable change, that is the dominant factor in society today. No sensible decision can be made any longer without taking into account not only the world as it is, but the world as it will be."
NCGives is pleased to be a part of the changing landscape!
One major thing that has changed for us is our address.
For the first part of NCGives’ life, we were honored to have the North Carolina Community Foundation (NCCF) as our landlord and fiscal host. This past April, a mutually beneficial facility transition gave NCGives the opportunity to move into our own space, and more fully step into the separate nonprofit role that we welcomed back in the spring of 2010.
We haven’t moved far, and our phone numbers and email addresses remain the same. We’d love for you to stop by our new place to say hello. The physical address is:
3509 Haworth Drive, Suite 204 | Raleigh, NC 27609
(Our mailing address is still P.O. Box 17385, Raleigh, NC 27619.)
As Arlene, Melinda and I get settled into our new offices, we’re remembering all the work that has brought NCGives to this point. From catalyzing 47 different giving-related initiatives, to celebrating the inclusion of our documentary in a national film festival, NCGives’ life-thus-far has been very full.
You may have noticed that we even adopted a new tagline late last year: “Because every giver matters, and every gift counts.”
If you haven’t talked with us in a while, we’d love to reconnect and learn how inclusive giving among women, young people and communities of color is playing a part in your world. Our phone number is still the same (919.256.6908), and you can email me personally at donna.chavis@ncgives.org.
And if you haven’t already subscribed to our e-newsletter, The Giving Thread, you can stay in the loop with inclusive giving in North Carolina by signing up here.
We’re excited about the evolving nature of NCGives’ role in philanthropy, and look forward to continue serving North Carolina as we celebrate the many cultures and forms of giving that strengthen our state.
Let’s stay in touch.
Respectfully yours,

Donna Chavis
Executive Director
NCGives
P.S. – We’re currently exploring community interest in creating a web and mobile phone tool that will alert North Carolinians of volunteer and donation opportunities in their local area. Please take a quick, anonymous online survey by this Friday, and you’ll be entered to win a $25 Amazon gift card.
