"Women's Circle gives out $26,000"

A group of community leaders concerned with the well-being of women and children gave away $26,000 Monday during its first awards ceremony.
Five local organizations benefited from the charity of the Women's Giving Circle of Fayetteville.
The organizations that received funding were:
Cumberland Interfaith Hospitality Network was awarded $13,500 to support its Single Women in Motherhood program for homeless mothers with children in the group's Emergency Shelter and Housing Programs.
Cumberland County Medication Assistance Program was awarded $6,000 to provide free medicine through the Health Department to those women and girls who can't afford it.
CARE Center Family Violence Program was awarded $3,500 to help domestic violence victims find housing.
Second Harvest Food Bank was awarded $1,500 to develop workshops teaching single mothers how to improve their buying decisions and save money at the grocery store.
The Salvation Army was awarded $1,500 for the Love Garden at the Salvation Army Shelter which teaches shelter residents how to plan and grow their own food. Read full article.
