Regional Correspondent Team


We’re looking for skilled writers to report on local stories related to giving, philanthropy and volunteerism.

If you’d like to see your work exposed to a statewide audience, while contributing to a good cause, becoming a Regional Correspondent for NCGives could be for you!



Qualifications

  • Minimum Age: Must be a junior or senior in college, or graduate student.*
  • Location: Must reside in North Carolina at least 8 months out of the year.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of journalism-related experience. Excellent reporting and writing skills are a must. Correspondents are expected to be familiar with the basic differences between writing for print and writing for the web.


How You Benefit

In addition to professional writing experience and exposure, correspondents will receive the following:

  • Stipend of $20 per article published by NCGives
  • Byline for all articles posted online by NCGives
  • Statements or letters of reference from NCGives’ Public Relations & Communications Director, pending eligibility (correspondents who provide admirable work for at least 4 months will be considered eligible)
  • An exclusive, complimentary webinar training on “Writing for the Web,” from nationally acclaimed trainer Kivi Leroux Miller of Nonprofit Marketing Guide.com
